What is surrogacy?

Surrogacy is when another woman carries and gives birth to a baby for the couple who want to have a child.

There are two types of surrogacy: traditional and gestational. A traditional surrogacy is when the surrogate’s egg is used to create the baby. The surrogate will have a genetic link to the baby that is born. Gestational surrogacy is when the egg used is either from the intended mother or an egg donor, but not the surrogate. The surrogate has no genetic ties to the baby.

What kind of surrogacy does Abundant Beginnings Co. oversee?

Abundant Beginnings™ works with gestational surrogacy. Gestational surrogacy is far more common than traditional surrogacy.

How does it work?

The surrogate will be implanted via In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF). IVF is the process by which eggs are removed from your ovaries and mixed with sperm in a laboratory culture dish. The fertilized embryo is then implanted into the surrogates uterus by way of a flexible catheter tube.

Surrogacy is legal?

In most states, yes! There are a few states that prohibit surrogacy and laws are constantly changing. Fortunately, we are knowledgeable in this area and will educate you during the process.

Can anyone become a surrogate?

Simply put, no. Surrogacy is not for everyone. There are requirements to become a surrogate. Abundant Beginnings™ will complete a background check, psychological screening and a medical evaluation.
